Overall job purpose:
Managing a small team of Automation and software engineers to develop control, software, web based and database solutions that will continuously drive innovation and change within a medical industry manufacturing environment. Responsibility for the design, programming, and successful delivery of solutions across a wide range of control systems including PLC/IPC, C#, SQL, while ensuring version control is paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a team with thorough technical understanding and knowledge of the following:
o Leading the controls, software and database criteria for all new projects.
o Working alongside the manufacturing engineering team to deliver innovative solutions.
o Producing specification and sign off documentation.
o Leading a team to review design and processes with suppliers.
o Assist in the equipment selection for NPI machinery.
o To lead a team producing Industrialisation Documentation: code compare documentation between duplicate equipment, provide software limit clarification for NPI projects
o Lead and develop documentation such as: Process Flow Charts, Electrical specifications, Electrical drawing updates etc.
o Developing Initial Takt times, OEE, Feasibilities etc.
o Leading continuous improvement project teams and implementing change.
o Leading the research and development of new processes e.g., auto soldering, laser etch, industry 4.0 advancements, cobot cells, Power BI, Power automate, SQL developments, Front end production software (WPF Xaml, Winform) etc.
o Identify any opportunities for improving new and existing processes
o Offer improvement ideas for manufacture to Design team.
o Assist the ME and PE teams in Trial Production Runs ensuring run at rate targets are met.
o Continuously improve production process to meet changing product development.
