Job description
To manage the Supply Chain department in Cyden comprising of Planning, Purchasing, Internal Sales/Logistics. To provide support to the Company’s commercial strategy and financial goals. Updating and analysing inventory and perform analysis of supply chain data.
Key Responsibilities:
This position will require you to provide support in the following areas:
- Manage the Purchasing team to make sure components arrive on time and at the correct location even when a deadline is tight, and forecasts are subject to change.
- Manage the Planning and Internal Sales teams to make sure order achievement to tight forecast requirements and on time delivery.
- Ensure the MRP system is set up correctly in terms of MOQ’s, lead times and buffer stock.
- Oversee the Purchasing and Planning requirements for our China factory.
- Liaise with all internal teams to enable the smooth running of the business requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Management of long-term purchase commitments in line with forecasts and adjust accordingly.
- Track inventory usage and adjust systems in line with actual performance.
- Ensure the import of goods is in accordance with HMRC rules.
- Review the Purchasing and Planning functions to ensure they are operating as documented in the Quality Management System
- Monitor and review supplier performance to ensure delivery is in line with corporate expectations.
- Keeps a well-organised collection of contracts and Quality documents for easy reference when needed.
- Attend Production and R&D meetings to ensure the Purchasing and Planning functions are aware of all relevant activity.
Experience:
Essential
· Minimum 5 years’ experience of Supply Chain Management
· Supply Chain Management and SAP experience
· Strong planning skills and project management experience
· Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while
maintaining accuracy
· Strategic planning and thinking, systems analysis and evaluation
· Relationship management skills and active listening
· Complex problem-solving skills
· Interpersonal skills
· In-depth knowledge of various IT systems including MS OFFICE
· In-depth understanding of risk management within the supply chain of the
company
Desirable
· Working in a consumer electronics supply chain function
· Knowledge of international shipping requirements
Qualifications and training:
Essential
- Degree level in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management or relevant senior level experience
- General secondary or vocational qualifications (e.g. GCSEs, BTEC Certificate..) including Maths and English
Desirable
- HNC/HND or equivalent in a business-related or technical discipline
- CIPS qualification
